DONATIONS
Your donations to the Long Lake Association can be directed to our General Fund, Invasive Species Fund, or our Boat Wash Fund. Donations can also be made in remembrance of a loved one. Finally, LLA has an endowment, managed by the Community Foundation. To learn more about planned giving options, please contact the Fundraising Committee Chair, Dave Porath at (989) 928-7655.
General Fund
The General Fund is an unrestricted fund which is managed by the Long Lake Association. This fund is used to support ongoing operating expenditures of the organization including:
• Water quality monitoring and testing
• Invasive species monitoring, prevention, and control
• Community-wide education and communication
• And much more!
Invasive Species Fund
Donations to the Invasive Species Fund create a reserve within the General Fund to fund a timely response from the Long Lake Association, if/when the next aquatic invasive species is discovered in Long Lake.
Boat Wash Fund
The Long Lake Association is actively raising funds to acquire, maintain and operate a boat washing station at the Crescent Shores boat launch. This station will become the first line of defense against new aquatic invasive species entering Long, Mickey and Ruth lakes.
Memorial Donations
You may choose to remember a loved one who has passed away with a memorial gift and lasting tribute. When you donate online, you will be given the opportunity to designate your donation as a memorial gift at that time.
Planned Giving
There are a variety of planned options for providing for the future of Long Lake and its watershed. Planned gifts may be made by designating the Long Lake Association or one of its funds as a beneficiary of:
• A will
• An insurance policy
• A trust arrangement
• An IRA or retirement plan

Endowment Fund
The Endowment Fund is independently managed by professional investment advisors through the Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation (“GTRCF”). GTRCF grants the Long Lake Association equal to 4% of the Endowment Fund’s value each year. GTRCF holds the Endowment Fund’s principal and is unavailable to the Long Lake Association.
